Active Efficient Coding for Building Self-Calibrating Vision Systems
Active Efficient Coding (AEC) is a recent extension of classic efficient coding ideas to active perception. Rooted in Information Theory, it allows to build self-calibrating vision systems that autonomously learn to perform, e.g., active stereo and motion vision with sub-pixel accuracy. The talk will cover the fundamentals of AEC and applications in robotics and the modeling of biological vision systems.
